Unexpected Lessons- “OS”

As i sat idly  after my lunch trying hard to beat the noon heat in this sweltering summer  and everyone else was trying to catch up on  their  siesta i remembered something i learnt as a kid while was in my 8th grade. my vocabulary wasnt that good at that time and in the hostel in which i was staying i happened to see this poster stuck on one of the dorm walls,it said ” THOSE WHO CEASE TO PRAY CEASE TO PROSPER”. At that time i didnt know the meaning of the word “cease”. i assumed in my innocence that it meant -  “to do” or ‘ to perform”…so the idea i got  from the poster was that those who do pray ,they do prosper. it was only later that i came to know that “cease” has got a negative meaning as in “to stop”(whatever is going on). I got the spirit of the quotation right but only i learnt in a positive way rather than through a negative approach. Instead of learning through fear that “if we stop praying ,we stop prospering”…i learnt that “if we do pray we will prosper”.

     I did learnt to see things in a positive way from that unexpected lesson.everything in life can be seen in two ways  positive and negative – the choice is ours,whether we would like to crib and gripe about something or think of it as a lesson well learnt and move on ,on a positive note.

i know its easier said than done,it aint as simple as there are two choices,but still even thinking in that way and remembering it is a good enough progress in the right direction
