This weekend was very depressing, first of all for no reason I was feeling low and lonely and then when I did finally venture out around 7.30 pm and picked up my pal by 8.00pm and we started doing a round of the movie theatres and everywhere we all we heard was Bomb Threat hence shw cancelled. I merely dismissed it as regular hoax calls and people being over precautious. It was only when I was on the Lower Tank Bund flyover and saw people crowding at the edge of the flyover towards the secretriat side did I get curious to see what was going on. On seeing below there was smoke from the Lumbini Gardens and there were ambulances and cops, and people were talking about a bomb blast at around 7.45pm. It struck me that I was only a mere metres away from the blast site and a few minutes earlier i had passed the road junction outside the Lumbini Park compound. The sights on the news channels showed the extent of the damage, the carnage, it was gory gruesome especially at Gokul chat centre blast, there you could only find only pieces of flesh thats all.
To think that all this is happening in my city at places I visit on the weekends and thanking my lucky stars havent visited them on that fateful day, to think I or any of my dear friends could have been there scared the daylights out of me, I had been comfortably numb to all those bomb blasts that take place every day in some part of the country or the world, but it was just news item to me or just another statistic but this time when it was so close, the impact was very strong, it hit me hard. Why the foolishness of killing innocents I dont understand , they have been doing this since God alone knows when these stupid terrorist organisations ( full of morons) havent they realised that not single one of these outfits with these stupid tactics of theirs have never achieved any of their set goals till now. Don’t these morons realise the futility of it all. I dont know day by day I am loving the moderate capitalism and democracy more and more and hating the communists and religious fundamentalists more and more.
The funny thing that happened was me and my friend K were together and the moment the news about the blasts was on Air my friend was recieving so many calls ( there were even international calls..now thats some rep..) as to his whereabouts and safety and seemed quite proud of the fact and thrilled and thought he never got so many calls even on his birthday..well he has a notorious reputation for being anywhere but home hence all the people in the know expressed their concern, I just got a call from mum and two other pals, who know i hang out during the weekends with K.haha..
We that is the BAR Association abstained from work however urgent /big/important or pressing showing our solidarity for our dear Hyderabad which has been hit hard, but will never fall……May GOD bless all the departed Souls and may they all rest in peace…….
